application being to give the Association time to collect
the necessary funds for the purchase of the lots and for
the erection of the buildings on them. As there had been
no demand for the land, I felt justified, considering the
beneficent purpose for which the Association wanted it, in
granting this request, and in promising that the lots
should be leased to the Association if required within the
18 months at a premium of $18,690, being at the rate of
$2.50 per Square Foot, and subject to an annual Crown Rent
at the rate of $700 per acre, this being the value of the
lots computed by the Principal Land Surveyor. I regret to
say that by an oversight the letter to the General Secreta
-ry of the Association did not say, as it should have done,
that the sale without auction was subject to the approval
of the Secretary of State.

The Association have now come for-
-ward with a request to purchase the land at the rates for
premium and crown rent previously specified, with the
modification that the road (Jose Lane) between the two
sites be closed and its area added making one site 8,800
Square Feet in area instead of two each of 3,738 Square
Feet.
There is no objection to the
